I am a registered psychologist and meditation teacher who has been in practice for 20 years. I trained in clinical and counselling psychology at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education/University of Toronto, where my studies included a variety of approaches, including psychoanalytic psychology, cognitive psychology, creative approaches as well as Psychosynthesis, a spiritually oriented psychology. I trained as a yoga and meditation teacher in the late 1980s and have been teaching in this area since then, incorporating my passion for meditation and reflection with my psychological approach in my teaching and counselling work. I have taught in the area of Clinical Applications in Mindfulness for Therapists for the last few years, and currently I am teaching at OISE in the area of Multicultural counselling.
My practice is located in midtown Toronto, where I offer psychotherapy for children, adults and couples. I can be reached at 416-765-2141. Please see www.anabodnar.com for further information.
I am offering a seminar and several workshops in 2009/2010.
Courses at The Institute for the Integration of Mindfulness Meditation and Psychotherapy
Very exciting new developments! I will be acting as the Co-Director of The Institute for the Integration of Mindfulness Meditation and Psychotherapy, under the auspices of TAPE (Toronto Advanced Professional Education). I will be teaching several courses in this certificate program.
This program explores the integration of mindfulness, meditation, counseling and psychotherapy and the application of mindfulness meditation interventions to a wide range of clinical populations and conditions. Western and Buddhist-inspired perspectives on health, illness and healing, mind and consciousness, emotions and behavior, will be contrasted, compared and integrated. Participants will receive
114 hours of classroom-based faculty instruction. Those completing the program will receive a Certificate of Professional Education in Integration of Mindfulness and Psychotherapy from TAPE, co-signed with the Director of The Toronto Institute for the Integration of Mindfulness Meditation and Psychotherapy.
